As 2020 wraps up, Collaroy Kitchen Centre are proud to have been recognised for one of our shaker style kitchens – landing ourselves on the list of ‘World’s 101 Most Beautiful Home & Interiors of 2020’

This project started with a dull, lacklustre kitchen with dated cabinetry. From the flooring to the lighting fixtures, we completely transformed this space by introducing natural light, ample storage and unique accents in the kitchen. We breakdown the design below as there is so much to love about each decision made to create the final masterpiece.

Extended Island Benchtop

As the previous raised island had enclosed the kitchen space, we solved this by utilising white benchtops on a flat island which elongated the kitchen and created a more inviting environment.

This unique design also features a benchtop that extends out to double as a table. Who said you had to have bar stools to eat inside the kitchen? Guests can eat comfortably and be entertained while you cook up a storm.

Window Splashback

We enhanced the space by adding a window splashback bringing the outdoors-in, showcasing the beautiful gardens and water views. It is a focal point in the kitchen, allowing our gaze to extend beyond the walls of the home while adding extra light and feeling of open space. By relocating the gas stovetop to the long side of the kitchen as opposed to the centre of the kitchen, it allows us to keep the space minimal, letting the client enjoy the window splashback without having to constantly clean oil splashes or sauce droplets off the glass.

By relocating the sink from the island to in front of the window splashback, the client will be able to wash their pots and pans in the deep sink while gazing outside at the incredible nature. It also leaves the island bare, giving you clean bench space to work on when you need it the most.

Classically Beautiful

This kitchen is modern, yet classic in design as seen in the cabinetry style, doorknobs and handles. Though an almost all-white kitchen sounds over-done, we added contemporary touches that brought out the best of the huge space we had to work with.

The cross-style table/bench legs are reminiscent of a classic farmhouse style kitchen. However, when coupled with the unique bench and table combo, it creates a distinctive floating illusion. This is a prime example of how Collaroy Kitchen Centre incorporates design with practicality.
